Task Overview for Confluence

A task report across all spaces: filter by assignee, status and due date, see overdue tasks, and tick tasks off in place.

A macro that lists tasks from all spaces or the ones you pick, filtered by assignee, creator, status and due date. Overdue dates stand out; tasks are ticked off right in the report. Runs entirely on Atlassian.

What it does

  • Assignee: the person viewing, anyone or nobody
  • Status, creator and due date filters; overdue in red
  • Tick off and reopen tasks from the report
  • Sort by due date, newest or page; 50 to 500 tasks
  • Filter box, refresh and CSV download

Where it appears

  • Macro in the Confluence editor: type /Task report and choose Task report (all spaces).

How to use it

  1. Edit a page, type /Task report and choose Task report (all spaces).
  2. In the dialog, choose who the tasks are assigned to, the status, due date and spaces. Leave spaces empty for all spaces.
  3. Save and publish. Each reader sees the tasks that match, on pages they can open.
  4. Tick tasks off in the report; use Refresh to read them again.

Permissions

The app runs on Atlassian’s Forge platform and declares no permission to contact outside servers. It asks for these scopes:

ScopeWhy
read:task:confluenceRead tasks with their status, assignee and due date.
write:task:confluenceTick tasks off or reopen them from the report. Confluence checks edit permission on the page.
read:page:confluenceShow the title and link of the page each task is on.
read:blogpost:confluenceThe same for tasks on blog posts.
read:space:confluenceLook up the spaces chosen in the settings.
read:confluence-userShow assignee names instead of account ids.

Data and privacy

What the app stores
Nothing. The macro settings are saved in the page, like those of any macro.
Personal data
None stored. Assignee names are shown on screen and in the CSV you download.
Logs
None; the app has no backend.
Where it lives
Nowhere outside your Atlassian site: the app works in your browser with your own permissions and keeps nothing.

Details for all apps are in the privacy policy.

Good to know

  • Up to 500 tasks per report.
  • Tasks are read when the page opens; use Refresh to read them again.

Questions

Why can a colleague not tick off a task I can?

Ticking off needs edit permission on the page the task is on, exactly as on the page itself.

Does it replace the built-in task report?

It covers the same need across all spaces at once, with tick-off in the report. The built-in macro keeps working alongside it.
